Larry & Dawn Kelly

Larry (Campus Director) and Dawn Kelly

Dawn and I grew up on opposite ends of NJ. I went to Rutgers University and graduated with a Biology degree. Dawn graduated from Towson with a Communications degree. We met and after beating the other guys away from her, I somehow convinced her to marry me. We have 2 lovely daughters, Dara and Jocelyn and a cat. We love Jesus and seek to follow Him in all we do.

Erik & Kylie Mersch

Kylie and I met at and graduated from James Madison University where we were involved with Cru as students. Cru was instrumental in the growth of both of our relationships with the LORD. Cru showed us what it meant to surrender our whole lives to Him and gave us a greater heart for missions. We got married and joined staff with Cru in the summer of 2012! We have been here in Baltimore ever since! We serve mainly at Towson University and are helping to launch Harford Community College as well! In December 2015, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl Alaina to our family. We are watching our daughter grow quickly before our eyes and are constantly learning what it means to be parents. We are excited to see what the LORD will do in this new stage of life as parents and missionaries!
A few fun facts: Kylie enjoys games and baking delicious desserts. Erik loves sports of all types (including a newfound love of disc golf) and is a big fan of Christian hip hop.

Bryan Nichols

I am married to a gracious and beautiful woman, Kristen. We are parents to Samson, Louisa, and Greta. My work with Cru focuses mostly on the students at Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated with an M.A. in Creative Writing in 2011. The goal at JHU is to shepherd a group that is not afraid to ask questions, share its journey, get its hands dirty, and proclaim the good news. “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs,” Jesus told His disciples (Matt. 10:27).

Carlos & Emily Urtecho

Emily and I were both involved with Cru on our college campuses – West Virginia University (WVU) and University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), respectively. We met each other on a Cru Summer Mission at Hampton Beach, NH in 2008. God used this mission trip to change my life. As a student, I founded Cru at UMBC where I saw many lives changed by the power of the Gospel. God also used Emily during her time in college to lead many women in discipleship and Bible studies. We got married in 2012 and currently live in Ellicott City. I serve full time with Cru, focusing on UMBC, while Emily volunteers with me as well! I love playing soccer, cheering for the Baltimore Ravens, and eating Tres Leches while Emily loves going on walks, singing & playing guitar, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and making Tres Leches!

Jimmy Warner

I graduated from Towson University in 2015 and have since been working with Cru, first at Towson and now Stevenson University. I am from PG County (Maryland) and grew up in a Christian home. Until high school, however, I honestly had no idea what it meant to be a Christian, thinking I received the title as a family inheritance. God showed me in high school that faith in Jesus would require my everything; total surrender. It was the sweetest day of my life, and freedom overwhelmed my very being.

Lakes, oceans, beaches, guitars, pianos, and music of all kinds are a few of my interests! Come find me and we’ll talk more 🙂

Brad Collins

I became involved with Cru during my freshman year at Towson University. After graduating in 2007, I joined staff and served at Towson for several years before meeting my wife, Jaime. We moved to Annapolis to work with Cru together at the Naval Academy from 2010-2016. We now have a beautiful daughter, Paige, and life has brought me back to the Baltimore Cru team to serve part time, at Howard Community College and Carroll Community College. I am passionate about discipleship and helping college students connect with God. I also love hanging out with my family, watching sports (Go 49ers!), and binge watching shows on Netflix.

Nancy Parlette

I began volunteering with Cru in the fall of 2010 at Howard Community College. I am now part-time staff at UMBC enjoying the opportunity to share with students the good news of God’s love, to teach them to grow in their faith, and how to share their faith with others. I am all about healthy eating and exercise, and love gardening and the outdoors. As well, I take annual missions trips to Haiti.

Elizabeth Terrell

I was fortunate to be invited to Cru events before I even attended my first class freshman year at Towson. As a student in Cru, I participated in stateside and oversees Summer Mission trips. Now, both experiences and passions are being brought together into launching Bridges International! I pray that God will use this ministry to bring international young adults studying at Towson to Himself.
My nugget of advice for college is to ask your roommate if you can get a dog before you go and get a dog.

Charlie Klepadlo

I work with faculty and grad students around Baltimore.
